Mary E. Jones was born in Memphis, Tenn., Dec.8, 1848, and died at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 28 days. She was first married to John Williams in the year of 1884 and to this union two sons were born, Samuel Williams and Luther Williams of near Grandview. Her first husband passed away in 1889. Later she was married to William Hickman Feb. 27, 1891. To this union no children were born. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was a good wife and mother, and well liked by all who knew her. Those who survive are the husband and two sons, Samuel and Luther Williams of near Grandview, and two grandchildren, Alfred and Helen Williams; two step-children, James and Alice Hickman, and six step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Harrison church Monday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Pike. Interment in the Grandview cemetery.
