Watkinson, 77, of Lisbon, died Saturday, May 20, 1995 at Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at George L. Gay Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Valley Township Cemetery in rural Hills. The Rev. Harlan Gillespie will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Nick Nevins Living Fund at Mount Vernon Bank. Mrs. Watkinson was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Des Moines to David and Verna (Smith) Petrikin. She grew up and attended schools in Des Moines. She married Harley L. Watkinson Oct. 5, 1940, in Davenport. He died March 22, 1982. She and her husband lived in Hills and the West Branch area before moving to Lisbon in 1955. She was a long-time employee of University Hospitals. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Lisbon. Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Penny and Larry Eckrich of Cosgrove, Linda and Dave Ravenhorst of Lake City, Minn., and Janet and Phil Larsen of Ely, Minn; one son and his wife, Harley L. II and Terri of Lisbon; two sisters, Marie Stineman of Wapello and Helen Baker of Donna, Texas; one brother, Fred Petrikin of Pinellas Park, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
