Schleichert was born in _eneitta, Germany, September __, 1843, died at his home near Grandview, Iowa, Friday, January 6, 1911, aged 67 years, 3 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage with Lena Stocke, October 14, 1873. To this union were born four children, Otto, of Grandview, Ia.; Mrs. Harley Krahl, of Letts, Ia.; Mrs. Orland Kemp, of Grandview and Mrs. Ollie Huffman, of Muscatine, Iowa, all of whom still survive. Aside from his children he is survived by his wife, three grandchildren and a nephew in this county. He had been confirmed in the Lutheran church and received in full fellowship with that church at the age of fourteen years. He was always a kind and devoted father and husband and a generous neighbor. The funeral was held at the home Sabbath afternoon conducted by Rev. J. H. Boozer. A very large number of his old friends and neighbors testified their esteem by their presence. Interment in the beautiful cemetery near Grandview.
