Services were at 10 a.m. today at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. The Rev. Clayton Paxton officiated. Elsie Stephens was organist. Pallbearers were Carroll Newell, Dennis Saylor, Lawrence Woten Jr., Rodney Woten, Greg Grimm, Fred Brown and Danny Bircher. Burial was at the McCormick Cemetery at Highland Center-Ottumwa. Mr. Paxton was born Jan. 12, 1928 in Keokuk County, Iowa, a son of Arthur and Cecil Louise Mietzel Paxton. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Loretta) Armentrout of Ottumwa; and Mrs. Marion (Marie) Slagel of Eddyville; and nieces and nephews. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
