WOODS Allen Lee Woods, Sr., age 61, 1109 North 2nd, Washington, Iowa, died very suddenly May 23, 1996 at his home. The funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 1996 at the Eden Funeral Home, Washington, Rev. Richard Boyd officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. The family met with friends Saturday evening at the Funeral Home. A General Memorial Fund has been established. Mr. Woods was born September 27, 1934 at Washington, Iowa, a son of Ralph and Esther M. (Benn) Woods. He grew up in Washington and graduated from Washington High School. He married Mary Sue Ruble, July 19, 1957 in Grandview, Iowa. With the exception of Military career, Washington, Iowa has always been his home, where he was a machine operator for Modine in Washington since 1979. Mr. Woods served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1979. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Woods, Washington, Iowa; three sons, Allen Woods, Jr., Anchorage, Alaska, David Woods, Washington, Iowa, and Robert Woods, Lake Mills, Wisc.; two daughters, Mrs. Brent (Susan) David, Tupelo, Mississippi, Mary E. Woods, Washington, Iowa; seven grandchildren; one brother, Ted Woods, Washington, Iowa; two sisters, Barbara Woods, Iowa City, Iowa, and Mrs. Don (Lois) Scott, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
