Lazaro Estrada Cavazos, 78, 2702 Lucas St., died Monday night at Muscatine General Hospital following and extended illness. Services are Friday at 1 p.m. at Donna, Texas, a son of Jesus and Candelaria Estrada Cavazos. Formerly of Donna, he had resided here for 30 years. His marriage to Angela Vasquez took place March 28, 1956 in Hidalgo County, Texas. He worked as a laborer and retired in 1970 from Northern Gravel Co. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Lazaro Cavazos Jr., West Laco, Texas; Baldemar Cavazos, San Antonio, Texas; Candelaro Cavazos, Rene Cavazos and Frank Cavazos, all of Muscatine; Isdro Cavazos, Los Angeles; and Juan Carlos Cavazos, San Antonio; four daughters, Mrs. Alfonso (Grace) DeLeon, Mrs. Benadion (Gloria) Abonza and Mrs. Efrain (Maricla) Perez, all of Muscatine; and Rosa Saldonia, Sunnyside, Wash.; more than 50 grandchildren and more than 100 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, one daughter and one son.
