Born Dec. 16, 1915, in Morning Sun, he was the son of Archie and Frances Wyerman Brown. He married Rose Marlette in 1938. She died in 1939. He later married Anna Wheeler on Aug. 8, 1942 in Kahoka, Mo. He ran Brown Small Engine Repair in Wapello for 35 years and retired from J.I. Case Co. in 1977. He was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association and the River Fork Rovers Camping Club. He was a graduate of Morning Sun High School. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Wagg of Wapello and Kay Meyerholz of Columbus Junction; a stepson, Raymond Patterson of Wapello; a sister, Margie Wilson of Dodgeville; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visistation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. The funeral for Mr. Brown will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Philgreen officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun. Memorials have been established for the Wapello Rescue Unit and the Wapello Community Ambulance. Source: newspaper clipping
