Skipto DATE: 2/9/2010 at 00:35:50 Surnames: WINDLE,AUSTIN,TANNER,LEVITT,COON Source: Louisa County Historical Society Austin Leon Windle, age 60, of 302 Roosevelt Ave., Burlington, Iowa and formerly of Wapello, died Monday morning, April 29, 1996 at the Burlington Medical Center. The son of William Henry and Leona Austin Windle, he was born June 9, 1935 at Elrick Jct, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Oakville High School. He was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors include a son, Rex Windle of Burlington; two daughters, Debra Tanner of Bremerton, Washington and Cheryl Levitt of Hills, Iowa; four grandchildren; a sister, Norma Coon of West Burlington; three nieces; several cousins and a special fishing friend, Marsha Petty. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 1996 at the Wapello Cemetery with Rev. Mark Tipton officiating. Friends called Tuesday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.
