John B. Doak, 77, 501 Liberty St., died this morning at Muscatine General Hospital. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. The Rev. A.A. Buntenbach will officiate. Visitation is Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Doak was born Aug. 1, 1907, at Dallas City, Ill., a son of Henry Jackson and Clara Louise Williams Doak. He resided here for 58 years. On Aug. 28., 1926, he married Mary Ellen Feairl at New London, Mo. He was a button cutter from 1926-40 and retired from J.I. Case in 1961. He is survived by his wife; one son, John L. Doak Jr., Muscatine; two daughters, Mrs. Reid (Norma) Cassabaum, Iowa City; and Mrs. William (Rosie) Bixby, Nichols; one brother, Kenneth Doak, Warsaw, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Five sisters, one brother, two infant sons and two infant daughters preceded him in death.
