The daughter of Virgil and Ruth Boyce Bailey, she was born February 18, 1926 at Muscatine. She married Robert H. Foor on November 6, 1943 at Muscatine. He died December 17, 1992. She had worked several years at Thatcher Glass of Muscatine. She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed her family and playing bingo. Survivors include three daughters, Marlene Runge of Fruitland, Joann Brase of Davenport and Bobbie Garrison of Fredonia; three sons, Don Foor of Grandview, Jack Foor of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and Kenneth Foor of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Ellis and Dorothy Sneddon, both of Muscatine, Emma Rupe of Ottumwa, and Ruth Wonders of Wapello; and three brothers, Allen, John and James Bailey, all of Floris, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; a brother, Bob; and two sisters, Jerk and Nancy. The funeral service for Betty Foor was held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 24, 1994 at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello with the Rev. John Ling officiating. Don Foor gave a eulogy and various selected taped music was presented. The casket bearers included Robert Foor, Jason Garrison, Joe Sneddon, Pat Foor, Kenneth Foor, Leo Garrison, Tom Sneddon and David Foor. Burial was at the Wapello Cemetery. The family met with friends Friday evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Hospice at Muscatine General Hospital or the Muscatine County Health Care Nursing.
