Hi Deb, I saw your message on the look-up for Patton and Brown. My gggGrandfather was Orlean Spafford married to Jane H. Patton. I won't be much help to you because all I have on Jane is her b. April 7, 1793 in NC. , married Orlean , April 3, 1822 in Madison IN. , d. May 6, 1871 in Louisa County. I have seen other Pattons in Louisa County and wondered if they were related. If you have any information you could share I would be very grateful, and would enjoy working with you. One other thing Benjamin Franklin Spafford, Orlean and Jane's son , my ggGF was married to Mary Jane Brown and all I know of her is her family migrated to IA. from IN. also . On the way her father died and her mother Sarah came on and located in Dubuque Co. with her family. I don't know who her brothers and sisters were, but it is possible they located in Louisa Co. , so maybe we might have a connection there, a long shot given the popular name of Brown Hope to hear from you, Margaret Stone
