Gary, Thanks a bunch for the help. I should have thought of that, as I have done it lots of times with other documents!!! I keep learning something about computer programs every time I start to work on something. Also using Excel for the transcription of the 1856 Louisa Co. Census. Progressing well, and hope to have the whole thing done and verified by summer. Jan
