Hi all, Is anyone researching the GRISWOLD surname? Three members of the Giles Oliver Griswold family were early settlers in Louisa County. Henry (Harry) Griswold bought land in 1841 from the Burlington land office and was the first owner of record. He bought 320 acres and his address then was Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut. Half of the land went to his brother, Franklin Griswold or Benjamin Franklin Griswold. I had only one Griswold record in my index, and I received a query on the name, so I am researcing it.
