IA misc: Wife - Sarah Elizabeth BRAND (buried in the same cemetery). Evan was 6' 1" tall, had blue eyes, light hair and light complexion ®22. He enlisted in Co. F, 25th Iowa Volunteer Infantry on December 21, 1863 and was mustered in on December 27. Mustered out 24 July 1865 ®22. Beginning in 1864, the 25th participated in the Atlanta campaign as a part of Sherman's army, in the march to the sea, and then from Savannah through the Carolinas into Washington. ®25 Evan and Sarah had 10 children, all boys. All survived to adulthood but one. Evan spent most of his life from 1856 on in the Columbus City area.
