ROY KEMP WIFE OF FRUITLAD MERCHANT PASSES AWAY AT BELLEVUE. Had Been Ill for Some Time and Was in Critical Condition When Removed to Local Hospital. At Bellevue hospital at 11:30 o'clock Sunday evening occurred the death of Mrs. Roy Kemp, of Fruitland. Typhoid fever was the cause of her demise. Several weeks ago she was taken ill with the fatal malady and two weeks ago was removed to Bellevue hospital in a critical condition. Strict attention was given the patient but the fever could not be conquered and she passed away last night. The announcement of her death was sadly received on the Island and in Louisa county, where she was well known and loved by many. Mrs. Kemp spent her entire life in this vicinity. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McGill, of Grandview, and was born in Louisa county and was at the time of her death 23 years of age. She was united in marriage to Roy Kemp four years ago last February and made her home in Fruitland after that time. Aside from her husband she is mourned by two children, Merle and Lillian. The remains have been take to the home of Mr. Kemp's mother, Mrs. A.F. Kemp, at Fruitland. No funeral arrangements have been made, but it is thought that the services will be held at Grandview. Morris, New York, on Nov. 10th, 1819, and passed away at Grandview, Ia., Feb. 6th, 1913, having lived 93 years, 2 months and 26 days. At the age of eleven she united with the Presbyterian church. She graduated for Ingham Ladies' Seminary in LeRoy, New York, in 1841, and after studying art taught it in that school. Sept. 12, 1843, she was married to Evander S. Warner, of LeRoy. They lived in New York, Chicago, and finally in Lake Geneva, Wis., where Mrs. Warner established Lake Geneva Seminary, a private school for girls. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, collecting and spending time with her loved ones. Survivors include her husband; her children: Mrs. Claudette Bausch and her husband, Ronald, Golden, CO; Mrs. Marilyn Littler and her husband, Al, Billings, Montana; Linda Oswald, Littleton, CO; and Charla Davis, Littleton, CO. There are thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Margaret "Peg" McConahay, of Wapello. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside funeral services were held this morning at the Columbus City Cemetery. The Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home handled local arrangements. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Dave, Most libraries have census records available through HeritageQuest. I checked HQ's census database for 1870 and did not find a Lemuel Jennings in the index. The only Jennings listed in Watertown was Mary Jennings (page 33). I checked each of the pages you said are missing in Ancestry.com's census records (3-12) and found nothing for Lemuel Jennings (or any Jennings). Sorry I couldn't help you.
