Services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Wapello United Methodist Church. The Revs. George Yetter and Brian Wiele will officiate. Burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or the Louisa County Care Facility. Mr. Wiele was born Feb. 16, 1900 at Mount Union, Iowa, a son of Fred Emma Vahle Wiele. His marriage to Marvel McGill took place April 11, 1923 at Muscatine. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a past mayor of Grandview and had served a 3-year term on the Louisa County Board of Supervisors. He was a farmer and for 10 years had worked at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant at Burlington, retiring in 1966. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lyn of Orinda, Calif.; and Don of Marion; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Milo of Grandview; and one sister, Hazel Shew also of Grandview. Born Jan. 31, 1916, at Wapello, he was the son of Henry and Hazel Umphrey Schwob. He married Hilda “Sis” Odle on March 12, 1939, at Wapello. He was a 1934 graduate of Wapello High School. He operated Schwob Plumbing and Heating in Wapello for about 40 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wapello and the Indian Hills Golf and Country Club. He was a Wapello volunteer firefighter for 15 years and was a former member of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tom Schwob of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Sharon Sissel of Muscatine; two sisters, Mary Archibald and Virginia Stone, both of Wapello; two brothers, Robert Schwob and Richard Schwob, both of Wapello; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. There will be no visitation. The funeral for Mr. Schwob will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with the Rev. Ed Philgreen officiating. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery. The body has been cremated. On Aug. 12, 1952 she married Albert Bentley. He died in 1970. She was a member of the church, the Jefferson Township Circle, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 257, TTT Society, Wapello, the Wapello Study Club and the Louisa County Historical Society. Survivors include one stepson, Bruce Bentley, Mediapolis; one brother, Dean McChesney, Fairfield, Calif.; one sister, Mary Baker, Wapello; and several nieces and nephews. MILLER Robert W. (Bob) Miller, 55, Englewood, Colo., died Tuesday, March 3, 1992, of an apparent heart attack. Born August 7, 1936, in Washington, Iowa, he was the son of Clarence and Martha Miller, lifelong residents of the Wapello area. He married Dixie Jennings at the Cairo E.U.B. Church in Cairo, IA August 10, 1956. Mr. Miller was an aeronautical engineering graduate of Ames whose aerospace career spanned from work on missile sites to working on the Saturn 5 launch at Cape Kennedy. Later he managed the overhaul of corporate jet engines at Struthers Field in Arkansas City, KS. In 1980 he joined his brother, Richard at Evergreen Lawns in Denver and branched out into his own computer consultant business. His love for flying his own craft and electronics was ever apparent to all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of Englewood, two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Cynthia) Frazee of Topeka, KS, and Mrs. Spencer (Rebecca) Pickell of Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Richard Miller of LaFayette, CO, and Nick Miller of Fulton, MO; a sister, Mrs. Warren (Judy) Cowles of Northbrook, IL; a half-sister, Mrs. Ivan (Clarine) Rush of Memphis, MO. Also surviving are two grandsons, Graham and Tyler Frazee and mother-in-law, Mrs. Donald (Grace) Jennings of Columbus Jct. His parents preceded him in death. She was born July 20, 1908 at Ollie, Iowa, the daughter of Cam and Cora Eckley Toomire. She married Ross Dudgeon on July 6, 1927 at Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1971. They came to Wapello in 1937 where she actively worked with her husband in the funeral home. She was a graduate of the Martinsburg High School. Pauline was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wapello where she had taught the youth Sunday School Class for many years. She was also a member of Chapter G of T.T.T. She had been a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Phyllis McCulley of Wapello; two granddaughters, Kathleen Hagele and Karen Grimm, both of Wapello; and four great-grandsons, Mike and Matt Hagele and Bradley and Brenton Grimm; and one brother, Waldo Toomire of La Jolla, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross, and two brothers, Forrest and Leo. The funeral service for Pauline Dudgeon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 1993 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Philgreen officiating. He was a life resident of the Wapello area and had served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Baker had worked as a chauffeur and truck driver for 30 years. One brother, Pierce of Iowa City, survives. COREY Former Mayor, Supervisor Corey Dies Tuesday Dean O. Corey, age 69, Morning Sun, died Tuesday, April 16, 1991 at the Burlington Medical Center. The son of John Leroy and Maxie (Martin) Corey, he was born August 6, 1921 in Louisa County, Iowa. On February 1, 1942 he married Eva Mae Butcher at Morning Sun; she died September 30, 1985. He was a graduate of the Morning Sun High School and attended Burlington Jr. College, UCLA and Stanford University. He served in the Army during WWII, spending a year in India. He taught electronics in Des Moines in earlier years. He and his wife founded and were administrators of the Morning Sun Manor, retiring in 1981. He was a State Representative in 1969 and 1970 and was also a former Mayor of Morning Sun and a former Louisa County Supervisor. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun and a member of the Morning Sun Lions Club and American Legion. Survivors include two sons, Mike Corey, Omaha, Nebraska, and Bruce Corey, Morning Sun; two granddaughters; one brother, Virgil Corey, Morning Sun; two sisters, Eleanor Jones, Wapello, and Eloise Phillips, Centerville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Cecil Elmer Corey. The family met with friends Wednesday evening at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 18, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Tom Zeleny and Nancy Kaye Skinner officiating. Music will be by Pam Butler, organist. Paulin was born June 28, 1863, at Grandview, Ia., and died July 3, 1912, at her home in Letts, aged 49 years and 5 days. She was united in marriage with C.E. Coder, January 10, 1884. To this union five children were born - James M., Vinnie A., Esther M., Lonnie V., and Mrs. Alta E. Rasley, all of Letts excepting Lonnie, who lives at Kewanee, Ill. In addition to these, she leaves to mourn her death her husband, C.E. Coder, her mother, Mrs. T. E. Milburn, of Grandview, and a brother, J.T. Paulin, of Letts, and two grandchildren, Wandoline Coder and Lillian Rasley. Mrs. Coder was a loving wife and mother and endeared herself to many by her kind, cheerful, helpful spirit. The funeral service was conducted at the M.E. church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. T.F. Barker officiating, assisted by Rev. J.C. Stark. The text for the discourse was taken from John, 6th chapter - "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life." The songs sung by the choir were: "Never Alone," "Tell Mother I'll Be There," and "Some Day." The floral offerings were many and beautiful, conspicuous among them being a large floral pillow from the family. The pallbearers were E.S. Rabe, M.A. Shellabarger, G.E. Bailey, H. H. Fullerton, J. M. Hildebrand and H.G. Hartman. Interment was made in the Letts cemetery. The members of Muscatine and Louisa county Rebekah lodges, of which deceased was a prominent member, attended in a body, marched to the cemetery and performed the simple service of dropping upon the casket the sprig of evergreen. The family and kindred have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement.
