She was a life resident of Muscatine. She married Hubert Paul Failyer on June 14, 1946 in Muscatine. She attended Musserville United Methodist Church. Her past memberships included the White Shrine, Worthy High Priestess and the VFW Women's Auxiliary where she served as a past president. She was a past leader of the VFW Junior Unit. She was a member of the Eagle's Lodge and the American Red Cross where she had taught CPR. She was a nurse's aide for several years, went back to school and in 1974 graduated from the University of Iowa's School of Nursing with a bachelor of arts degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Muscatine General Hospital until 1984 when she had to retire because of health reasons. Survivors include her husband, Hubert; two sons, Fred Failyer of Letts, and Billy Failyer of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Pat) Hetzler of Moscow, and Mrs. Rick (Rose) Bodman and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Cross, both of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Raymond Dietrich of Muscatine and Billy Dietrich of Nice, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and one daughter, Joyce Ann.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Columbus Junction, the National Funeral Directors Association, a long time member and past officer and presently an honorary member of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association. He also held membership in the Columbus City Lodge No. 107, AF&AM, the Davenport consitory and the Kaaba Shrine. He was a funeral director by trade and operated the Stacy Funeral Home at Wayland from 1937-1950 and from 1950-1975, the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home at Columbus Junction. Survivors include his wife, Grace; a daughter, Mrs. Warren (Constance) Lewis of Columbus Junction; four grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Margery; one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Leanne) Neffziger, Fayette; twin sons, Ronnie and Donnie, at home; his mother, Mrs. Haines of Colchester, one brother, Bonner Haines, Macomb, Ill. and one granddaughter. He married Ruth Walker in Oquawka, Ill. on Dec. 8, 1933. Mr. Ashby formerly ran John's Open Air Market, on South US 61. He was of the Protestant faith. Surviving: his wife; a son, Harvey, New London; a daughter, Geraldine Dufort, Santa Monica, Calif.; a sister, Belva Tee, Oquawka, Ill.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. Burial will be in the Wapello Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. Mr. Korn was born Sept. 19, 1889, in Wapello, the son of August A. and Lydia Brendel Korn. He was a lifetime resident of Wapello. On June 16, 1915, he married Lula Kemper in Wapello. He was a farmer, and member of the Wapello United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Charles A. of Logan, Iowa, and John H. of Wapello; one daughter, Mabel Lucille Sandeen of Winfield; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles E. Korn of Mesa, Ariz.; and three sisters, Anna Bryan of San Antonio, Texas, and Lillie Hiller and Esther Fancolly, both of Wapello. Mr. Korn was preceded in death by his wife, one grandson, four sisters and one brother.

He married Donna Wischmeier Sept. 6, 1946, in Columbus Junction. He worked in the lumber yard business, retiring from D&P Lumber in Wapello in 1985. He was a member of the VFW, Wapello, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed fishing and bicycling and participating in the Friday night band at Oakville. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Debra Lee Milstead, Glendale, Ariz.; and Teryn Lyn Wright, Washington, D.C.; and two grandchildren. The daughter of Henry and Louise (Dreckmeier) Burgus, she was born September 27, 1914 at Burlington. She married M. Burdette Hudson in October of 1935 at Burlington; he died April 4, 1976. She was a graduate of Burlington High School; was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis; the Rebekah Lodge at Sperry; the Business and Professional Women at Burlington; the Secretary's Association at Burlington; the Kings Daughters, and the Willing Workers. She had worked at the I.A.A.P in earlier years and retired from Midwest Savings and Loan in Burlington as V.P. Loan Officer. Survivors include: 1 daughter, Janet Kremer of Oakville, Iowa; 3 sons, Richard of Phoenix, Arizona, Robert of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, and Roy of Burlington; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Ethel Dodge of Burlington; and 1 brother, Martin Burgus of Sperry. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Edward and Paul, and an infant sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 22, 1994 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis, with the Rev. Dan Vojta officiating. Music was provided by Joan Cling, organist. Honorary attendants were Hazel Anderson, Eunice Ibbotson and Duella Robertson. Casket bearers were Robert Kramer, Allan Hudson, Roger Hudson, Mike Hudson, Eric Hudson and Don Kramer. Casket bearers were Clyde Crawford, Larry Robertson, Leroy Hughes, Mike Pavey, Steve Moore and John Currie. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. He was born December 26, 1917, in Columbus Junction to James and Edith Earle Reaney. He married Margaret Hanft on April 12, 1941, and later married Iris Cutkomp Bitting on June 24, 1976. He was a member of the Louisa County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association of which he just recently was recognized as a 50 year member, also a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. He had been a life long practicing attorney in Columbus Junction. Surviving are a son, John Reaney of Columbus Junction; a daughter, Ruth Cornick of Iowa City; two step-sons, Ron Bitting of Clarinda and Terry Bitting of Atlantic; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Benbow; his parents and his second wife, Iris, who died in February 1988.
