Please respond to: "Johnson's" <us0515@horizon.hit.net> Subscriber: <snip> "In my family genealogy, I have a record that my grandfather was born in Toolesboro, Louisa County, Iowa Sept 20, 1883. His parents were John Weber and Zella Noble Weber, John was of German desecent and was born in Highland County, Ohio. The only information I have on Zella Noble Weber is that she was born in Illinois. Their first child was born in Kansas in December, 1881. The next entry I have is the birth of my grandfather previously mentioned. Then I have that the third child, Roland Dale Weber was born at Wapello, Iowa, Jan 31,1886, Fourth Child, Emma Weber born in Iowa, Novermber 1888. Then the next record I have is in Missouri with the birth of the fifth child and the death of Zella Weber, January 9, 1898. I found some Webers listed in your biography section, and would not be surprised if there isn't a relationship, but it is not direct. This is my first attempt to research in Iowa, and I am not sure where to look."
Dear Friends, James was 19 on the 1880 US census in Michigan. A family letter states he came back from Iowa for his brother's funeral sometime in the early part of this century. Is someone researching this surname in Iowa perhaps or possibly have a referral/recommendation? Best regards, Dennis Lyon
I am looking for CARPENTER, BRYANT, GRIMM, MASSNER, ARAZOLA, GURULE Thanks Rob

Will the person who sent me the wonderful Beik information, please contact me. I relocated the material in my computer files this a.m and apparently neglected to put a name or e-mail address with it. The volume of material that I am accumulating now makes it imperative that I identify the sources as I go along. I would appreciate communicating with you on this. Norma
The Korngieble/Kongable Papers by Rev. Ned H. Benson has now been edited and uploaded to the Louisa County website. This consists of 53 pages of Kongable and associated families information. They can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialouisa/manuscript/kong1.htm
For those of you who are descended from the Henthorn/Jennings/Buffington/Watson/Jackson Families I think you will find this website well worth checking out. Dick Henthorn has been doing extensive research for a number of years on the Henthorn Family and has combined the research of many on his genealogical website. Dick is a former employee in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. so knows how to search out all the references to our family lines. The Henthorn line goes back to John and James Henthorn who migrated to America around 1730. Mary Henthorn married David Jennings and descendants married into several family lines familiar to those doing Louisa County, Iowa research. A word of caution I did find a few errors in the works but they are rather noticeable so I don't think you will have any trouble picking them out. Dates that don't jibe, like one marriage that occurred after the wife's death. Another when he was only six years old. Apparently someone typed 1766 instead of 1786 in that instance. The volume of information makes it inevitable that an occasional typo will occur. Even if you aren't a direct descendant, it makes good reading entertainment. http://members.aol.com/Rhenthorn1/index.html#top Enjoy! Norma
Folks, please bear with me as we make a major change to the Louisa County website. The CCHELPER Index to Queries, Surnames, and Researchers has been installed on the Louisa County pages. Please regard this first week or two as a test period until we are assured that all are working interactively as anticipatedl. The links to the old method will not be removed immediately, but when they are, no data will be lost as the 1998 queries now on-line have been imported into the CCHELPER so we will have some duplication for a few days. If you do find a link that is not working well, please let me know so I don't overlook anything. I haven't registered it with CCHELPER CENTRAL yet so I am counting on the list members to find the bugs before we link in to the central indexes. Hopefully, further down the road when time permits, we would like to add some other features such as obituaries, etc. to this but don't hold your breath. The next six months look pretty busy. mailto:njennings@lisco.net If you would like to give it a try, the index page to the new system can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialouisa/qryindex.htm Norma
