We discovered that there were some 1841 marriages that were omitted in the original Louisa County web page Marriages 1837-1841 and also in the previous issue of our newsletter. These omitted marriages were recently published in the Louisa County Genealogical Society's August newsletter so I very quickly converted them to HTML format and loaded them on the Web pages so you would have access to them . I will be adding some more buttons as time permits but will have to be gone for awhile today and may not get it done immediately. #81/81 Electa Williams Robinson d/o Robert and Elizabeth Wright Williams. The Williams family consisted of 20 children and many of them were prominent figures in Louisa Co. and in Iowa. I am related to Electa's sister, Louisa Ella Williams m. David Gillett 8-25-1858. If anyone is interested I have a copy of Robert Williams children and spouses. Hi Wilma & list, You asked if I found a marriage listing for John W. BUTCHER married to Lovina BLAKE. The only John was John BUTCHER (no middle inital) m 20 Feb 1879 to Sarah E. WILCOX (Bk "E" p 201). There are no BUTCHER's listed on the 1850 Louisa County Census; perhaps they will be found in one of the surrounding counties. Apparently Nehemiah BLAKE and Elizabeth PAGET were married in OH. The only marriage for David BLAKE is for David T. m Sarah MICKEY on 21 Jul 1851. (Bk "A" p 186). Sorry--I must have made a mistake when I listed the house hold of Ward BLAKE. Thanks for your patience! For those of you who are researching the KNIGHT family: Asa, Curtis and Mark Knight were the sons of Stephen KNIGHT and Polly PIERCE. The Knight children were born in Marlow, NH (according to Knight researcher Ruth Kelly). Their children were Mary b. 1806, Curtis b. 1809, Charlotte b. 1810, Asa b. 1813, Harriet b. 1817, Lucy b. 1819, Elizabeth b. 1822, Mark b. 1826, Dexter b. 1828, and Alonzo b. 1830. Two years after Stephen's death in 1839, the homestead was sold and the family broke up. Sometime after that the three brothers (Asa, Curtis and Mark) came to Louisa Co. I'm not sure if any of the others did. Polly Pierce Knight and her son Alonzo joined the Mormon Church and relocated in Utah. (If anyone is researching this family and would like more info on Alonzo I can share what was given to me by one of his descendants.) Are there any Spafford/Spoffard researchers on this list?
