We now have a more correct record of Jane Denham's children, including three of whom we had never known their names, but so fitting within the family: Alice, Reuben and Henry. Penny, can you believe your name (Penny Alice) comes from at least 150 years ago, neither of which I was aware at the time we named you? I just couldn't wait to share this exciting news!!! The spelling and grammar are exactly as originally written. The infant on the 1850 mortality schedule b. Apr d. May obviously was not Jane's. Iowa's DC while having her name incorrect and year of birth incorrect gives month as Sept. which is probably fairly accurate, given that David died in May. The Ellen G. age l yr. in the 1850 census is the "unknown name" in Aunt Eva's notes. It's safe to say she died somewhere between the 1850 and 1860 census years. We knew that Jane had 11 children, with only 7 surviving infancy, but this is first indication we had of names. Any names you give to Iowa's children in your records should be taken from her obituary, and not from the ANNA Kleckner family. Eva would have been around 20 years old when Iowa died so she certainly had some first hand contact. At any rate, this lays to rest all the speculation about Iowa. 2. Janice Hoehle
    3. Hi Nancy, This is long, so bear with me. I'll try not to make any typos. From the Columbus Gazette, February 15, 1905. "Daniel Hill was born in Salem, N. J., February 7, 1819, died at his home in Orono Township, Muscatine County, Ioa, February 5, 1905, lacking two days of being 80 years old. He moved with his parents when 10 months old, to Ohio. Was married to Eliza Hughes, October 13, 1843. To this union one child was born. In 1845 he was married to Matilda Hughes. To this union were born four children. Was married in 1857, to Sarah A. Long. These three wives preceded him to the spirit Land many years ago. Was married to Mary Robinson, December 18,1861. To this union were born three children. Came to Iowa in 1859: settling in Louisa county which has been his home ever since, except a few years, and the last two years in Muscatine county. Funeral services held in the Christian chapel conducted by Rev. Crow, of Lone Tree, after which the remains were borne to the Swank cemetary and placed in the grouond to await the resurrection morn, and his spirt has gone to the God who gave it. He leaves to morn his loss a faithful wife, three sons and three daughters; also one brother, A. C. Hill, Clay Center, Kansas, and one sister, Sarah Fitzgerald, of Center Point, IA. Mr. Hill fell some years seven years ago, fracturing his hip so that he could not walk since. All this time he was a silent sufferer, never being free of pain, but never known to murmur or complain. In his death the widow has lost a faithful husband; the children, a loving father, and the community an honest, upright citizen. The sympathies of the neighbors and friends are extended to them in their sad affection." There it is: Jan

    3. Angela, I have a copy of Daniel's obituary from the Columbus Gazette, Feb. 15, 1905. There is quite a bit of detail in it, including the fact that he lived in Muscatine Co, Orono Twp., at the time of his death. Since Mary survived him, maybe she died in Muscatine County??? Do you have this obituary, or would you like to have me send it to you E-mail? My feeling when I saw the ages on the 1850 census, of Robison family, was that Mary was an older daughter taking care of her father and younger siblings.? Janice

    3. Keith/Connie, I'm interested in the "Wince family folder". Is there a folder for that family? If so, is it one that Vicki Teel just finished? We are both researching this family. Also, I have several folders that need to be indexed. Could I pick up some cards from you at the meeting Tuesday, or do you want to do the cards? I would like to review the folders before I file them. If we prepare the file folder according to the requester's name, what do we put on a file folder prepared for a request by E-mail, with only a first name? Janice

    3. Angela, I don't know how much help this will be to you, but I have done some research for someone who wanted information on Sarah E. Robinson/James H. Winder. In that research, I also found this family listed in the 1850 Census: Hiram Robinson, 51, b. N.Y. Residence: Grandview Twp. Mary E. Robinson, 25 , b. N. Y. George W. Robinson, 15, b. OH Alexander Robinson, 14, b. OH Henry F. Robinson, 14, b. OH David Robinson, 11, b. OH Levi S. Robinson, 5, b. IA Levi S. Robinson, 1, b. IA Amos Robinson, 22, b. OH. There are more Robinson families listed on the same page, and I have seen the name on other years' census. Also, I assume since you have the date of Mary Elizabeth Robinson's marriage, you also have a copy of the marriage certificate. In my notes, I have listed a marriage for Mary Elizabeth Robinson, in the Index of Marriage Records, 1837-1899, page 32. There are 12 other Robinson ladies listed, and 14 Robinson men in the same Index. This search has not been recorded on Keith/Connie Street's Index cards, yet, as I'm still working on it. The person requesting the information whose name will be recorded on the cards is: Marcy Billings: mabillings@home.com. There are three listings for Robinson in the Wapello, Columbus Junction, etc., phone book: C. S. Robinson, 208 Liberty, Conesville, IA 52739 Christopher Robinson, 1 Samantha Av. (Conesville?? phone has a Conesville prefix) Mike Robinson, 208 Liberty, Conesville, IA. There are several listing under Robinson in the Muscatine telephone book. 3. I just noticed my husband's name under the Miller listings and since he does no genealogical research, I thought I would respond. Our only connection to the name "Miller" is the fact that Olin's sister Dixie married Robert Miller, now deceased and buried in the Fulton Cemetery. He was the son of Clarence & Martha Miller. He had a sister Judy and two brothers Rich and Nicky. Norma Jennings

    3. In all my surfing, I find the Louisa County list the best, most active list of all the ones I've tried. It certainly makes one's life easier when you have relatives from there :-) Can anyone out there help me with the following relative? My great-great-grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Robinson. Is there still a Robinson family in the Louisa-Muscatine county area? Does anyone have a record on a past one? I do not have a birth date on Mary. All I have is that her name was Mary Elizabeth Robinson, and she married my gggrandfather, Daniel Hill, on 10 December 1861. Mary was Daniel's fourth wife. His first two wives died, I believe, in childbirth. I'm not sure about the third, although I believe that she died and not that they divorced. Daniel and Mary were married until he died in 1905. Daniel is buried in Swank cemetary between Conesville and Lone Tree, but I didn't find a headstone for Mary when I walked it last summer. Daniel and Mary had three children: Harriet , Francis, and George. I am descended from their son George. Is this familiar to anyone? Thanks, Angela Hill Schulz
