Deb, I'll see if the obits are on microfilm at the library. I enjoy doing that sort of thing, and if the obits are there, it shouldn't take too long. Also, your Family History Center could probably order any census films for you. If I find the obits, that will probably identify the township, so you might not have to look through the whole census. The FHC has access to a lot of information. They are also online. It used to be www.familysearch.com, but may have changed. Anybody on the List, have a more recent address??? Jan

I am researching the following surmanes. All are connected to the EDGINGTON surname. Sue, I checked the death records in Louisa County, for any "Higgs". All I found were: George W. Higgs, b1823(VA), d. 28 June 1898, Wapello. There is an obituary for him, if you are interested. There is also a Caroline Higgs (appears to be Geo's first wife), and Kisiah or Kisie Higgs, who was his second wife. Marriage records show George's (although the book shows C. W. instead of G. W.) marriage to Kesiah Vansickle, Feb 13, 1896. Alice Maud Higgs to Wm. Allen, Feb 11, 1871, A. M. Higgs to J. T Randolph, March 11, 1880, F. Josephine Higgs to Enos Nearhood, Jun 5, 1884. I checked my database of Cemetery burials in Louisa County and found a Harry and Sarah A. Bennington buried in Beauchamp Cemetery but no Henry. I also checked Hesslers and found none in Louisa County. If they were buried in Louisa County, appparently the stones were gone some time ago or they had none. If they died after 1880, there may be a death record in the vital records at the courthouse or State Office. But even after that date registrations weree sporadic. I hae never located the graves of my great great grandparents even though I know where they died from my grandmother's notes. No mention of funeral or cemetery in those notes. Norma Jennings
