He moved with his parents when 10 months old to Ohio, was married to Eliza Hughes October 13, 1843. To this union one child was born. In 1845 he was married to Matilda Hughes. To this union were born four children. Was married in 1857, to Sarah A. Long. These three wives preceded him to the Spirit Land many years ago. Was married to Mary Robinson, December 18, 1861. To this union were born three children. Came to Iowa in 1859, settling in Louisa County, which has been his home ever since, except a few years, and the last two years in Muscatine county. Funeral service held in the Christian chapel conducted by Rev. Crow, of Lone Tree, after which the remains were borne to the Swank cemetery and placed in the ground to await the resurrection morn, and his spirit has gone to the God who gave it. He leaves to mourn his loss a faithful wife, three sons and three daughters; also one brother, A. C. Hill of Clay Center, Kansas and one sister, Sarah Fitzgerald, of Center Point, Iowa. Mr. Hill fell some seven years ago, fracturing his hip so that he could not walk since. All this time he was a silent sufferer, never being free from pain, but never known to murmur or complain. In his death the widow has lost a faithful husband; the children a loving father, and the community an honest and upright citizen. The sympathies of the neighbors and friends are extended to them in their sad affection.

I believe the link is through Lawrence J. Murphy (1901-1982). I saw that he is listed in your family tree. Lawrence Jeremiah Murphy is the son of Jeremiah J. Murphy and Catherine Carroll... and the brother to my grandfather (Daniel Anthony Murphy b. 21 July 1908). I believe I am fairly certain that this connection is correct. I am hoping that you are able to receive this message, and that you would be willing to email me at [email protected] My family and I are working on tracking down documents and information about this whole Murphy family. I would love the chance to compare notes on family history if you are willing. Thanks so much! Hi! I'm curious if anyone out there knows about a man named Dale L. Schneider. I never met the man but he was a cousin of mine. He was the son of Harry Ellwood Schneider and Mollie G. (Unknown). (This is the line of Schneiders that starts with Louis Sr., then Louis Jr., then Henry, then my gr grandfather Ralph, brother of Harry.) By way of the census, I find a birthdate of March, 1909. I have found a Dale L. Schneider in the social security death index, but the birthdate doesn't match. Any help would be appreciated! Robert Schneider
