That didn't work. There are over 1400 listings for Davis, Evans at Rootsweb. To send the URL - (the place where the page is actually found), would you try this? go to the very top of the page where your file begins, click on the line that begins: http:// that should highlight the line. holding your mouse, click on the RIGHT button. You should then see a little drop-down menu. one selection should be the word copy. slide the arrow down to copy and click on it with the LEFT button. now, do a "reply" to this message, then click on the empty box here - press the RIGHT button on your mouse again Click on Paste and that should put the URL into the empty box. I can then go to the URL and see your tree. Supposedly. If it all works. Thanks,Dan, Xana Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [IALOUISA] Absalom Frazier
    2. Christina Wilson
    3. Absalom Frazier and family lived in Louisa County for a short time between 1865 and 1870. They were in Des Moines County for the 1870 census and in Washington County by 1880. Absalom has been notorious for not leaving a paper trail, but this is the first time I've looked in Louisa County. Absalom was born abt 1828-1832 probably in Ohio. He is a been a brick wall for 30 years--but recently I started working on an old note I had that 2 brothers of his lived in Morning Sun. One *might* be Elliott Frazier. My Absalom died Jul 1893 in Washington County. His wife was Catherine Dill (daughter of Mercer Dill and Nancy Dailey--born in Preble County Ohio). They were married in Nov 1853 in Randolph County Indiana. She died in 1916. The children I found are: Leander brn ~1856 probably in Indiana (maybe Ohio) Isalona brn ~1860 died bef 1870 again, probably in Indiana Florence brn ~ 1863 in Indiana died 18 Nov 1896 in Washington County Frank E brn ~1868 in Louisa County died 23 Oct 1945 Washington County Burt brn ~1870 died aft 1916 John brn ~1870 died bef 1880 there are supposedly 3 more children I'd love information on their brief stay in Louisa County--and to contact other Frazier researchers in the region. Christina

    1. Re: [IALOUISA] EPIDEMIC late 1853/ early 1854?
    2. Connie Street
    3. I found this in a write up about Burris City. Many residents left Burris City after the flood, then epidemics of cholera and/or yellow fever struck in 1858 and 1859 killing many of the remaining residents. They were buried in a single unmarked grave at Mallory Cemetery also known as Bronsons's Cemetery on the bluff. A second flood struck in 1859 - that and the demise of the ill-fated Airline Railroad turned Burris City into a ghost town. Nathan Burris was left with more than 600 acres of useless land. There were also reports of Confederate soldiers dying on boats heading upriver to the prison camps in the Quad Cities. Likely the same types of diseases. If I find more, I will let you know. Connie Street [email protected] May your troubles be less, your blessings be more and nothing but happiness come through your door. ----- Original Message ----- From: jim jarvis To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, June 28, 2008 1:06 AM Subject: [IALOUISA] EPIDEMIC late 1853/ early 1854? Does anyone know if there were any epidemics in Louisa (typhoid, yellow fever, etc.) from Dec. thru Jan. 1853/1854? About 20 years ago, I was on a bus tour of historic places in Louisa which was conducted by Mr. MATHEWS. He mentioned a possible mass grave (I think near Toolsboro) which was thought to be people who died in an epidemic, but I don't remember if he mentioned a timeframe. The Burlijngton newspapers available at Ancestry.com for this specific time period are not available. In reading earlier and later Burlington newspapers on Ancestry, I've noticed periodic "panics" of typhoid (etc.). One involved a traveling circus! I'm looking for my 3 BLAIR's who may have died during this time but can't find their graves in the cemetery books , including the WPA records. Since all 3 "disappeared" at the same time, one of my speculations is that they (mom, dad, & 20 year-old son) may have died of disease and been buried in an unmarked (possibly mass) grave. Any research suggestions appreciated.
