    3. I am looking for information on Jobe and Mary (TOWNSEND) RUSH married to Jobe RUSH on 29 June 1867. He first married a Tall? CRESWELL, Nov. 12, 1865. Jobe died after 1870 and Mary died in 1894. She was living with a CJ IVES and his wife Rebecca (TOWNSEND). It is unknown if this was her daughter or another relative.   I sent for his Civil War records and found nothing to help.   I am trying to find out what happened to his wife of 1865. I am also looking for his burial and perhaps dates on headstone (birth and death)     Pam

He complained of feeling badly that morning, but never-theless went down town, going first to a barber shop, where he admitted that he was suffering severely. From the barber shop he went to the office of the physician, where he was suddenly stricken. The physician ran out of the office to summon assistance, and when he returned a moment later Thompson had succumbed. Thompson would have been 66 years of age, had he lived until next Saturday. He is survived by his wife and one son, Walter, who resides on a farm southwest of Letts. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge and of the Methodist Episcopal church.

J. Armstrong, of Morning Sun, died Sunday morning, March 13, at 1 o'clock, from the result of injuries received while at play Saturday afternoon. Physicians were summoned and everything possible done to save the young life, but after only a few hours warning the little lad passed away. He leaves to mourn his death, his father and mother, two brothers and one sister. The family have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in this sad and sudden bereavement. The funeral services were held from the R. P. church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. D. Trumbull. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery.

F. Christie came over from Brighton Wednesday night to attend the funeral of his uncle, Geo. Christie. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Christie came down from Cedar Rapids the first of the week, called here by the illness and death of the former's brother, G. M. Christie. George M. Christie passed away last Wednesday morning at an early hour after an illness of a little over a month with dropsy of the lungs. Deceased was born in this city August 20, 1843. His parents were Henry and Sarah Christie, who came from Jefferson county, Ohio, in 1843, and this son, the fourth child of the family, was born but a few weeks after their arrival. The family consisted of eleven children, five brothers and six sisters, five of whom are living. They are: Mrs. F. M. Ong, Mrs. Emma Mincher and Henry Christie, of Wapello, Mrs. Sarah Myers and Ed. L. Christie, of Cedar Rapids. Until he was twenty years of age, deceased stayed at horne with his parents. At that age he entered the employ of the C. B. and Q. railway, afterwards becoming one of their trusted passen-ger engineers, and had the distinction of running the first railway engine over the new bridge across the Mississippi river at Burlington. Closing his work on the railroad in 1871, he returned to Wapello and resided with his parents until their death, the father dying in 1874 and the mother in 1879. He never having married and the old home broken up, he made his home with his brother, Henry until 1887, when he took up his home with his sister, Mrs. Mincher until his death.     2. I badly need more information about a Joseph E. Dickson born 1818 in Jackson Co., TN. He married Minerva Ann Smith 1839 in IL. Joseph settled in Louisa Co., IA. They had 10 children, 2 born in IL and 7 born in IA. Joseph died in 1861. I can find nothing further. Any information will be greatly appreciated.     3. This may not be of any help but this is what I found: Their are three Rush's buried in Louisa County. Job and Mary are buried in Wapello Cemetery and Eleanor is buried in Mallory Cemetery. The Rev. James Johnson of the First Presbyterian Church, assisted by the Rev. Frank Greenwood, Morning Sun, will officiate at the 2 p.m. service at the Presbyterian church in Wapello. Guy C. Jamison was born July 1, 1889, in Wapello, the son of Edwin and Mary Belle Vandevort Jamison, on the farm south of town homesteaded by the grandparents Matheny and Martha Peymer Jamison. He was married to Lena Greene who preceded him in death in 1920. On June 3, 1925, he was married to Maude Warren at West Burlington. Death occurred early Monday, April 6, 1970, at his farm home where he had resided his entire lifetime. Mr. Jamsion, a retired farmer, was elected to the board of directors of the Farmers Elevator and Exchange in 1929 and president Jan. 5, 1933, and was serving in that capacity at the time of his death. He recently retired from the Louisa County Board of Supervisors, where he served as a member and chairman for 17 years. He served 25 years on the Wapello Community School Board, and was president of the County Board of Education for several years. Mr. Jamison was a member of the board of the First Presbyterian church; director of the State Bank of Wapello; member of the County Welfaire Board; Farm Bureau; and belonged to the Louisa County Historical Society. In 1963, he was appointed to the Mississippi Parkway Commisison by Gov. Hughes. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Maude Jamison; four daughters, Mrs. George (Mary Ellen) Griffith, and Mrs. Jack Wheeler (Marjorie) both of Morning Sun; Mars Dale (Esther) Rickert and Mrs. Leslie (Martha Lou) Fisher, both of Wapello; 13 grandchildren and a gret-grandson; three brothers, Hal, West Burlington; Orin, Story City; and Donald, Apache Junction, Ariz.: three sisters Mrs. Bernice Herrick, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Dorothy Harper and Mrs. Helen Ogle, both of Sioux Falls, S.D.
