Whoops! A senior moment. Have approved a number of photos for the GPP for Washington County this week and my mind was stuck in that section. However, I did upload the obits to the obituary board so I would advise others to do so also. :>) Norma

Connie, I still have quite a few family obits to copy for GPP yet so I can't take on any more right now. I posted a few non family Louisa ones recently with an Unrelated Volunteer heading. Still some of those obits from the Columbus Gazette that Harriet had that I apparently didn't send to the girls that typed a lot of them.. Many old obits and newspaper items to post when I get to them. Right now, MaryAlice and I are working on a logo for the Iowa in the Civil War site which may appear soon and the Washington Co 1925 census for Cedar Twp. I have discovered that the museum has several old scrapbooks filled with obituaries. If I were to scan them, would any of you be willing to type them into our obituary boards on the IaGenWeb site? That would be a great help to other researchers. There are also weddings and general items that could be placed onto the document boards. Thank you in advance to those who are able to help. Hi! I have a few comments on my earlier post about the deed index entries. 1)I was very surprised to find the first entry for Louis Schneider to have been a sale of land. Is this an unusual situation, viz., to find land being sold without a prior entry for purchase? Louis Schneider recounts in a Louisa County history that he entered the county in 1855. 2)Is anybody out there researching the Snider/Snyder name? I am wondering now if I might be related to these Sniders. Louis Schneider's name was routinely spelled 'Snider' various documents. 3)Is anyone researching the Kallenbergers? It is not a common name. I have some documentation on Christopher Kallenberger's family being in Hamilton County, OH until after the mid 1860s. I was very surprised to the name Jacob Kallenberger hitting the index in 1852. Also, I was surprised to find the names Daniel and Barbara hitting the index in 1865 and 1867 respectively. I have a Barbara Wick Kallenberger in my files as the wife of Christopher. Daniel Kallenberger is a name that is a surprise to me, just as Jacob is a surprise. 4)As a last question, is anybody else out there researching the Louis Schneider line? Over the years, I've bumped into one Schneider cousin on this list which was a great surprise. Just wondering if there are others out there. Robert Schneider
