He was born March 4, 1947, at Burlington, to Archie and Jerrie Deihl Wolfe. He never married. For many years he was a steel-worker and recently was employed by Wolfe Plumbing and Heating Company, Morning Sun. Mr. Wolfe was a member of the National Rifle Association and the First United Methodist church of Morning Sun. Surviving: His parents; two brothers, his twin, Tim, Franklin, N.C., and Sheldon, Morning Sun; a sister, christy McElhinnney, Morning Sun; five nieces and nephews. The body has been cremated. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Morning Sun, the Rev. Dick Clark and the Rev. Paul Best officating. A memorial has been established. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery. Visitation is 7-8 p.m. today. Mrs. Stuart died Sunday at Burlington Medical Center. She worked as a telephone operator in Wapello. She and her husband, Elmer, owned and operated the West End Grocery and Wapello Hatchery for many years. Lillian Vollmer married Elmer Marshall in 1918 in Wapello. He died in 1950. She married Allen Stuart in 1953 in Washington. He died in 1963. Memorials may be made to Wapello Rescue Unit. Survivors include sons, Keith and Billie George Marshall, both of Wapello; and Robert Marshall, Winlock Wash.; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Zella Stout, Burlington. Born July 2, 1920, at Wapello, he was the son of Elmer and Lillian Vollmer Marshall. Mr. Marshall was a graduate of Wapello High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a hotel employee for many years and retired after working for the Sheraton and Hilton hotel chains. Survivors include two brothers, Robert Marshall of Winlock, Wash., and Billy Marshall of Wapello. He was preceded in deeath by his parents, a sister and a brother. Friends called as desired at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello. A graveside service with military rites by the VFW for Mr. Marshall was at 10 a.m. Monday in Wapello Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Philgreen officiating. Honaorary casketbearers were Bill Marshall Jr., Donald Hollingsworth, Dave Foor, Fred Brown, Dean Samuels and Chuck Kronfeldt. Arrangements by Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Mediapolis, and was an assistant church organist and was active in UPW. Surviving are five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 8:300 p.m. Thursday at Fry Funeral Chapel, Mediapolis. The services for Mrs. Davis was held Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, Mediapolis, with the Rev. H. Dick Reynolds Jr. officiating. Burial was in Kossuth Cemetery. Laura Jane Owens was born September 3, 1880 in Van Wert County, Ohio, a daughter of Evan J. and Elizabeth Jones Owens and was aged 82 years, 6 months and 21 days. She was reared in Louisa County, Iowa and married December 18, 1902 to Eben G. Davis. He died August 8, 1962. Mr. and Mrs. Davis moved to Crawfordsville in 1921 when they retired from farming. He most recently was employed by Dealer's Choice in Mediapolis. He attended Morning Sun schools. He was a Korean War Nevy Veteran, stationed in Guam. He was a member of Morning Sun American Legion Post 112. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. His favorite NASCAR driver was Ricky Rudd. He loved to read westerns. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill Stanford of Bonaparte; one daughter, Sharon Wittrock of Morning Sun; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Nadine Frank of Morning Sun; Gail Shumak of Wauconda, Ill., and Noreen Warner of Coal Valley, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one grand-nephew. Visitation will bve from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Stanford will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun, with the Rev. Harlan W. Winter officiating. Burial with military rites by Morning Sun American Legion Post 112 will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun. Memorials have been established for the Morning Sun Ambulance Service, the Morning Sun Library and Great River Hospice.

He married Mildred Archibald January 15, 1944 at Keokuk. Iowa. Mr. boyle was a beteran of World War II serving in the European Theater of Operation and was a prisoner of war. For many years he was a Standard Oil Agent in Morning Sun. Later he was a meat inspector, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Hays Scott Post 112 of the American Legion, a former charter member of the Morning Sun Lions Club and was of Catholic Faith. Surviving included his wife at home; a daughter, Mrs. Chris Gordon of Bloomfield, Iowa; two grandchildren, Matt and Molly; three brothers and one sister, Timothy Boyle, Portland, Oregon, John and Joseph Boyle, both of Keokuk, Iowa, and Elizabeth "Sis" Boyle, also of Keokuk, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. A Christian Wake serice was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at Pierce Funeral Home, Morning Sun, Ia. A memorial has been established. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Masry's Catholic Church, Wapello, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14. The Rev. Father Philip Cardenzana officiated. Pallbearers were William Boyle, John Boyle, Steve Renard, Dwight Vogel, Jack Van Ausdall and Kenneth Norton. Burial was in National Cemetery, Keokuk, Iowa, at 2 p.m. January 14. The Rev. Harlan Henry Naylor, 84, of rural Morning Sun, died Thursday evening, Oct 21, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born May 3, 1915, at Morning Sun, he was the son of Elvin Lenious and Alpha Josephine Finke Naylor. He married Mildred E. Deitz in 1947 in Morning Sun. She died Oct. 13, 1977. He then married Mabel J. Lingbeek on June 28, 1980, in Tracy, Minn. Mr. Naylor was a 1932 graduate of Morning Sun High School, a 1937 graduate of Parsons College in Fairfield and a 1942 graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NY. He taught school at the former Huron High School in Des Moines County in 1937 and 1938. He served his student internship in 1940 and 1941 at the Granger, McAdow, Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Churches in Memphis, Mo., and was ordained in 1942 in Kansas City. For 38 years he served as minister for the Presbyterian Church, USA in Dexter and Cuba, Mo., Auburn, Iowa, Tracy, Minn., Carthage and Stanford, Ill. He moved to Morning Sun in 1978, ministering during his retirement. He was a serious student of the Bible and a great appreciator of fine scholarship on history and many other fields. President of his Princeton Alumni class since 1992, he was known and loved for his giftr of thoughtful communication. His avocation was woodworking, crafting furniture from boards made from hardwood trees he selected from his father's farm. He was a membver of the Great Rivers Presbytery of Illinois, the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and a member and past president of the Morning Sun High School Alumni. He served as a moderator to two Presbyteries and was a commissioner for two General Assemblies of the Presbyterian Church, USA. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harlan H. Naylor Jr. of Burlington and John Timothy Naylor of Chicago; and one granddaughter. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun. The funeral for Rev. Naylor will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church, rural Morning Sun, with the Rev. Ron Good officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun.
