Barbara, I live near Montrose, and I know there was a Farris family here early on. In fact, I knew of a Nellie Farris that was a school teacher for many years. I am a school teacher, and survived my first day back with the kids today. In addition, this weekend is the big Watermelon Festival in Montrose. It may take until sometime next week, but I'll look to see what I have on this Farris family and get back to you.
