Wever; born in Montgomery Co., Penn, in 1806; at 12 years of age, with his parents moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, thence to Dearborn Co., Ind. At the age of 23, Mr. Morgan married Mary Osborne, who was born in Ohio in 1808; in 1839, they came to Lee Co.; settled upon and improved the land (240 acres) where he now resides; in 1864, his wife died, leaving seven children Elizabeth, born in Indiana Sept. 30, 1831; Joel, born in Indiana Oct 9, 1833; Edward, born March, 1835; Abraham, born in Indiana Aug. 4, 1837; Priscilla, born in Indiana Sept. 30, 1839, and died in Lee Co., Oct. 27, 1840; Sarah, born in Lee Co., Aug. 27, 1841; Eli, born in Lee Co., Dec. 18, 1843; John, born July 28, 1849. April 6, 1874, Mr. Morgan married Catharine, wife [sic] of David Strunk, one of the early settlers; she was born in Hunterdon Co., N. J., in 1816. Mr. Morgans children are all married and settled on farms, except John, who is a machinist in Burlington. Mr. M. [sic] is a Democrat in political belief; he has been a Deacon in the Christian Church for forty-seven years; his wife and three of his children are also members of that Church.
