Mrs. John S. Craig Sr Aged 63 years. The death of Mrs. Craig carries away another old settler from our midst. She and her husband landed at Fort Madison on the 4th of April, 1844 and on the 10th came to West Point, where they have since resided. Mrs. Craig was well and favorably known all over Lee county, and the news will cast a gloom over many a heart. She was a member of the Methodist church, having cast her lot with that denomination when but fifteen years of age, and was a faithful member up to the time of her death. She leaves eight children ,and her husband to mourn her loss. The funeral took place from her late residence last Wednesday morning at 10:30. The services being conducted by Rev. Vincent. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
