He had severe haeart trouble. He had lived on the same farm for 73 years, north of Montrose, Ia. He was age 77 years at death. He was born 21 Oct 1844 at Lock Berlin (Wayne co) NY. He leaves a wife (Magnolia Skyles) and 9 children. Mrs. Reeder Maxfield of Charleston, IA; Mrs. Jas. Vermazen of Donnellson, Ia.; Simon(sic-Simeon) of Fort Madison; Victor of Fort Madison; Hurd at home; Bessie at home; D.T. Griswold of Denton, Texas; Mrs. Charles Wardlow of Montrose, Ia; Kenneth of San Jacinto, Calif; Two children, Edgar and Mrs. Grace Vermazen preceded him in death; Funeral will be Wednesday.
