I am looking for information on a couple of ancestors that were riverboatmen but I don't know what the names of the boats were nor their routes. My ancestors names are Washington Jackson Davis b-10-11-1842 d-10-13-1926 and George Washington Oman b-1827 d-3-4-1897. I have been told that George Oman was a river boat pilot, I have no idea what capacity Washington J. Davis worked other than riverboatman. I was wondering if anyone with the Pictorial History of Ft. Madison or any other publication like that may have something in them as well. If not, does anyone know how to locate information of this type when you don't have a specific boat to look up? Is their a good site for this type of information? Thanks Amy in AZ
