I am not related to Mr. Sokolik and have no further information re: him. Danial J. Sokolik, 52, 2775 Chalk Ridge Road, Fort Madison, died at 3:30 pm Friday, Dec. 22, 2000 at his home. Born Aug 1, 1948 in Fort Madison, he was the son of John and Rita Patton Sokolik. On June 30, 1973, he married Betty A. Wagner. Mr. Sokolik worked in the Daily Democrat pressroom for 16 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Fort Madison. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joseph Sokolik of Aiken, S.C. and Jason Sokolik of Fort Madison; one sister, Linda Liggett of Fort Madison; one brother, Pat Sokolik of Fort Madison; his mother; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will begin after noon Wednesday at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, where the family will receive friends from 6-7 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. The body of Mr. Sokolik has been cremated. Private burial services will be at a later date in Gethsemane Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
