Madison Weekly Democrat Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1911 ALEXANDER WILSON DIES Successful Farmer of Henry County Was Over 88 Years Old. Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Jan. 27.----This morning occurred the death of another of Henry county's best known settlers, Mr. Alexander Wilson, who lived about nine miles southeast of Mt. Pleasant. He was 88 years old. Mr. Wilson was born in West Virginia and spent his boyhood there, coming to this state some forty-five years ago, and to this county a short time after that. His wife, a woman of 85 years, is still living. Mr. wilson has spent his life in farming and has been a successful farmer. He is quite well known throughout the county and has always been active in public affairs. He leaves, besides his wife, their five children, four sons--Jobe, residing in Montgomery county; W.A., living about six miles southeast of this city; Jonah, who lives on a farm south of the city, and Albert, of near Lowell; also one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Martin, who lives in Kansas City, Mo. All the children were with their father when he died. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson lived for a number of years on the Price farm in Lee county and were well known by the older residents. The funeral was held at Bethany church Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Interment in Bethany cemetery. ---------------- ***Note: The daughter's name was incorrect. Her name was Virginia Belle and she was called Jennie. They lived in Kansas City, Kansas.
