I'm hoping someone on this list can help me further my search for a great-uncle by marriage. George Almendinger b. 11/1/1876 in Franklin, IA. Lived in Ft. Madison from an early age to death in 1943. He worked for the Santa Fe RR. Married Mable Thomas in 1906. She died in Ft. Madison in 1960. Both were to be buried in Oakland Cemetery, but don't seem to be there. Father Jacob Almendinger is buried in Ft. Madison City Cemetery. Is it still in existence? Is St. John's Evangelical Church still in operation? Is there still a Church of the Nazarene in Ft. Madison? Is there still a Hall Funeral Home? If I may presume on the kindness of list members for the addresses of the churches and funeral home, I would be grateful.
