He had been afflicted with dropsy for about five months, but not seriously until about two months ago, since which time he has been confined to bed, being tenderly cared for by his loving wife and children who did everything in their power for the comfort of their loved one, whose depature has filled their hearts with grief and left the old family home sad and lonely. Mr. Molene was honest and upright in every respect, and loved and respected by all. He had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church for over thirty years and, as a true Christian, bearing his suffering patiently, was ready to meet his Savior, his prayer during his illness being, "Jesus, come soon." Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by five daughters, and three sons, as follows: Mr. A. Nelson and Mrs. G. Larson, of Keokuk; Mrs. A. Lerche, of Farmington, Mrs. R. Nelson, Mrs. A. Anderson, Harvey A., Perry A. and Harold F. Molene, all of Belfast. There are also thirteen grandchildren. The funeral which was largely attended, was held from the Methodist Episeopal church at Croton, Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 13, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.W. Carson, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Croton cemetery. The family have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their breavement. ----------------------------- August "Gust" Moline was my great grandfather.
