Ia Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/LeeObits/175 Surname: Moline, Risser, Nelson, Anderson, Lerche, Larson ------------------------- This obituary is taken from the Farmington "News-Republician" dated Thursday, August 26, 1920. ------------------------------- HARVEY MOINE PASSES AWAY Harvey Adam Molene was born at Croton, Iowa, January 8, 1882. He united in early life with the M.E. church of Croton, Iowa, and later moved his membership to Farmington. He was a member of Croton I.O.O.F. lodge. He was united in marriage to Miss Charlotte Risser, March 9, 1909. To this union were born two children, Francis Dale, age 9, Donald Risser, age 6. He began to fail in health in July 1919. He gradually grew worse and had to give up his farm work. He went west to gain health but returned in a short time not much improved, since that time he has been continually under the doctor's care. Through all his sickness and suffering he never complained, always patient thankful for what was done for him. He was a devoted husband a loving father and a kind neighbor. He was always willing and did all he could for his family and was ever ready to lend a helping hand where and whenever needed, there was no night to dark for him to lend a helping hand to a neighbor. He has lived a useful life, and his place in the home can never be filled and he will be missed in the church and in the community. His loving wife was untiring in caring for him through his illness. He departed this life August 14th age 38 years, 7 months and 6 days. He leaves to mourn this loss his loving wife two small sons, his mother five sisters and one brother. Mrs. Robert Nelson, Mrs. Anderson and Perry Moline of Farmington, Iowa; Mrs. Andrew Nelson of Ft. Collins, Colo; Mrs. August Lerche of Prarie City, Iowa; Mrs. August Larson of Keokuk, Iowa; besides many other relatives and friends. His father and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted in the M.E. church at Farmington, Iowa, by his pastor, the Rev. G.H. Smith, with interment in the beautiful cemetery on the hill. The I.O.O.F. lodge of which he was a member performed their ceremonies at the grave. The singers were Mesdames Ware and Kelley and Messrs Wiegner and McIntosh with Mrs. Folker at the piano. ------------------------- NOTE: Harvey and Charlotte "Lottie" Moline are both buried in the Farmington Cemetery, Farmington, Iowa. Harvey Moline was my grandfather. I would like to hear from anyone with any connections to this family
