    1. [IAJONES-L] Re: Jones County obits/Help Request
    2. Thanks all of you for your help and offers of help! Janis, I telephoned the church in Castle Grove this afternoon and spoke to a very pleasant and helpful nun who is going to look up burial records of my great grandparents for me. Dawn, if you would look up the obit for my great grandmother Catherine Farrell Byrne when you get to the library next time that would be great. She died in either January or June of 1885 and is buried at Immaculate Conception cemetery in Castle Grove, so I would think it would be in one of the old area papers. I will be happy to reimburse you when you find it; let me know and I will give you my mailing address to send the hard copy. Should someone else happen to get one before you, I will post it here. (or rather I'll e-mail you direct that I have it) Diana, Did you say that you have access to indexed copies of the Iowa census? I am trying to track down James and Bridget Byrne Montague. They were married in Clayton county in 1877, but don't know how long they were there. (or if they lived in Clayton county at all after marrying) Several members of the Byrne family lived in Jones county, so she may have been there as well. Bridget is the only one I don't have much info on. If you have time for a quick scan of the index, I would appreciate it as long as you are offering; I don't expect any lengthy research. Again, thanks to all of you....it is much appreciated. Pat Byrne Thurmes
