Hello, List. My g-g-grandfather, John C. RAFFETY, moved to Jones Co. in 1834 and bought a farm just outside of the present town of Cascade. He died there in 1852, but his son continued to live there until 1881, when he moved to Powashiek Co. His brother, Richard, moved to Jones Co. in 1842 with his large family. GRAFFORT (or Grafford) is my g-grandmother's maiden name. TAYLOR was the name of her aunt and uncle, who lived in Cascade. (He was "Judge Taylor". I believe I may have a picture of him.) John C. Raffety and Thomas Graffort were founding members of a Baptist church in Cascade. I would love to share information with other genealogists. I'm interested in the early history of Jones Co., in the Grafforts and Taylors, and in corresponding with any Raffety descendants. Frances
