Christian Dowhower enlisted in the Third Infantry - Iowa Volunteers, Company C from Dubuque May 22, 1861. The 1860 Jackson Co, Richland Twp Census: Frederick Dowhower living in the house of Joseph and Margaretta Willson. Believe they were relatives of Frederick DOWHOWER bc 1870s (my gr-grandfather). He married Fanny BATHER in Clinton, Clinton Co, IA 1898 and lived in Lyons, Clinton Co, IA. He drown 1906 when my grandmother was about 6 yrs old and I never knew much about him or the family. Would love to learn more... Any info appreciated. Thank you.
