We are definetly distant cousins - James Orra Gloss' father (James Crawford Gloss) was my great grandfather's brother. All of that generation of Gloss family stayed in PA - only James C. Gloss settled out West. He was the son of Barnhart Gloss who came from Germany in 1842. I have a great deal of info on the Gloss family that stayed in PA, if you would like it. I would love to have any information on the Gloss decendents that you may have. I don't know what your computer capability is, but if it's possible for you to scan the photo's you have and then e-mail them to me? If not, I would gladly pay to have reprints made, so I could have a copy of them. You mentioned Merry Smola Gloss.
