You could see for miles from the top of the Hill.My family full of St. Donatus descendents - some of my families are: Seyler, Bonifas, Engel, Arensdorff, Kalmes, Homan, Streff, Schommers, Wilmes and others. I had a friend from Grand Island, Nebraska who ancester were Lutherans and ran the mill there - the name was Glade - and we did a lot of research together. I have pictures of Dominick Arensdorf's grave and if you don't have it and are interested, I will be happy to send you a picture. A family store was that our Wilmes ancestors were stone masons and helped to carve the alter int he church in St. Donatus. The church burned ownce, and in the back the grave stones have blackened from the fire and smoke. someone who was reasearching Arensdorff stopped at my house in Grand Island several years ago and we traded information - my of my relatives lived or moved to near North Platte and sutherland. My mother was born in Otis, Colorado, but moved backed to Sutherland - her grandfather Peter Seyler worked ont he railroad and lived with them. Mother started to school there.
