She lived in Maquoketa all her life. She was married to Ben Holtz and had two daughters, Maxine and Donna. Maxine died very young and Nellie was raising her son, Jackie, when he drowned as a child. Donna died in 1991 and I think Nellie died sometime after. Would like any info that anyone would have about marriage and death records. I've come up with three hits in all of them. a census record for 1900, a genforum query answer, and my own submittion to WorldConnect. there were also several hits at Rootsweb's meta search engine, but half of the links were broken, and the Alsinas' I found were not Stewarts. the boys are not in SS, which I find odd. I'd think some of them would have made it in, but there isn't any of them.

That is all that is listed there, but you should contact the Jackson County Gen. Society in Maquoketa and check the records of Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Society had the Mt. Hope burials on their computer in 1996. I believe the lot #58-188 follows the Mt. Hope numbering system From the 1880 census, I would say that perhaps S. Scully was the father of Daniel Scully. I will check with the genealogy society in Maquoketa. I have searched through 1860/70/80 censuses on the family in Maquoketa. They seem to drop off the face of the earth in 1880. Unless a child was born and died between census years then I find no one in the family with the first name beginning with S. They were the only Scully in Maquoketa during those years so the grave has to be related to them. It probably was a child but I'd like to get the information on the person. Thank you for your help. Is there some one on the list who could lookup the burial of a S. Scully in Maquoketa township. The only information I have is that the page number is 213 and the burial lot is 58-188. There was no date in the information that I got. I am guessing that it would be between 1855 and 1880. Thanks so much.
