    1. [IAJACKSO] St. Patrick Cemetery Garryowen
    2. Would someone be able to tell me how to contact St. Patrick Cemetery in Garryowen, Jackson County,IA. I am looking for the burial of my gggrandmother Sarah RITCHIE MCGINTY who died between 1856 and 1860 and for her son William Cornelius MCGINTY, b. 1842, baptized 1863 in St. Martin's Catholic Church Cascade. He was listed in the 1860 Census and I have not been able to find him after that date. He was listed in the baptismal records for the church with sponsors so I am assuming that it was not a last anointment. I would appreciate any help or a look-up if someone is close to the area and will be visiting the cemetery. Thank you, Kathy Stoneberg http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kstoneberg/ourfamily.htm

There are cemetery records for the Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue at the Bellevue Public Library (paper) and through the LDS local family history centers (microfilm). If you would like me to look up the film numbers, I would be happy to do so. However, you can also find them through the Library Catalog on familyserach.org. 2. I have used a wonderful local researcher in Bellevue to obtain copies of obits in the Bellevue Leader/Herald. It is a good idea to look in both papers since different information is contained in different obits. Please contact me directly if you would like the name of the researcher I have worked with. She may not want her "particulars" published on the internet.

    3. Just a hint for people searching for cemetery records- A way to find out who has the burial records for a particular cemetery is to contact one or more of the local funeral homes or mortuaries. They usually know. Or see if the place has achurch or a cemetery association connected to it. A search in the online Yellow Pages may give you a clue on who to call. Beth C. 2. White, Nancy A.
    3. Kerry - thanks so much for your offer of help. I was in a quandry because some information that had been posted at the Jackson county site (the booker/adams post) included data about Minerva's marriages that didn't add up -- i.e. Beard listed as the first marriage, but the Beard children listed as born AFTER the Heath marriage. I've since received information to set that straight -- boy there are alot of Edwards descendants out there! I also had a kind woman in Florida send pics from Willison this morning. What a terrific day I've had - people are so kind. 2. Carol Tolley
    3. Hi My Great Aunt Bess FRITZ married a man whose surname was LUBBEN in Jackson Co. I only remember they owned a rather large farm, I think in Maquoketa, and that she and her husband retired to the West - perhaps Arizona. She died 19 Apr but I don't have the year. Should have been in around 1960. Bess's parents were John FRITZ and Catherine BIZEK. She had two brothers, Edward and Lewie (my grandfather) and a sister, Elizabeth who married Frank PRIEBE. Any info anyone can give me about Bess and her husband or her parents , John and Catherine, and family would be appreciated. Carol
