    3. ANDERSON, PETER M. A farmer, he resides on Section 29, Wayne Twp. He was born in Kristeanstad Sweden in 1830, the son of N B. and Nellie (Christianson) Anderson. His father died when Peter was four years old, and his widowed mother was left with three children: Peter, Christiana, and a son who died in childhood. His mother yet resides in Sweden in the home of daughter, in the village above. Peter was adopted by an uncle, Hans Malm, who also resided in the village. In 1854 he learned the brick maker's trade, and in 1854 he ame to America on a siling vessel, the voyage taking 8 weeks from Liverpool to Quebec. He had the money to pay passage to Galesburg, where he worked for a farmer for two years in Biggsville, IL. He married two years later to Mary Malmburg, and left IL in 1867 to buy a farm on which he now lives. Their children are: Edwin O. Charles E. Minnie D. Joseph A. Nellie Bertha Tillie Lillian J. Mrs. Anderson was born in Sweden, the daughter of John and Christina (Nelson) Malm, who married in Sweden. The parents had 7 children before coming to America.and sailed in 1863 The father died seven years later, and the mother survived until 1887 and died at Red Oak, Iowa, at age 85. They have three children still living: Andrew, of Gladstone IL, whom. Helena Knutstrom John, who resides in Red Oak Iowa and who m. Sophia Haugland, and Mrs. Anderson Joan
