Can anyone tell me what farmers were growing in Henry Co. about 1850-1900? Were they growing crops - row or ?, fruit trees, raising cattle, sheep?? What was the land like when they came in the 1850s? What did they have to do to the land to farm it? My people moved into the lower part of the county - Salem & New London. Some were Quakers, were their farming practices different? We have a very small library here, would there be books (names?) that could be inter-library loaned. Is there someplace on the web for Henry Co. history? Thanks for any help. Karen in Oregon
