Wow, what a letter. Starts out friendly, gets down to some serious business, then ends up friendly again. That sure did open my eyes as to the division between families divided on the Civil War issue. My ancestors fought on both sides, but I don't know of any who were close relatives (probably will come across some one day). My father's family were in Virginia and my mother's family were in Ohio. Thank you for sending it. Every so often something comes up and really hits home and this is one letter that did just that for me.
