Waples Sr. Oct. 27, 1938 - Oct. 15, 2006 10/25/2006 Merle L. Waples Sr., 67, of Missouri Valley died Oct. 15, 2006 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m on Oct. 19, 2006 at the Logan Memorial Chapel with Pastor Roger Seeley officiating. Honorary bearer was Jim Sears. Casket bearers were Merle Waples Jr., Don Rodasky, John Burbridge, Tom Vandemark, Larry Joy and Alvin Frain. Final resting place was the Logan Cemetery. Merle was born Oct. 27, 1938 in Logan. He lived in the Missouri Valley area most of his life. Merle graduated from Lo-Ma High School. After his school years he served in the United States Navy. He worked as a security guard for Kent Security Company. Survivors include his daughters Melanie Larrabee and husband Richard of Round Mountain, Nev., Melissa Kirkegaard and husband Glen of Round Mountain, Nev., Michele Guengerich and husband Mark of Kansas City, Mo.; sons Merle Waples Jr. And wife Susie of Moville, Mark Waples and wife Nancy of Ft. Lewis, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters Roberta Sears of Bellevue, Neb., Patricia Dugdale of Missouri Valley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alta V.
