Montange, 73, of Woodbine died Friday, December 8, 2000, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine. Vivian was born on December 15, 1926 in Dunlap to parents Tom and Bertha (Frazier) Malone. She attended country school near Dunlap. On June 9, 1945, Vivian married Floyd Ellison. The couple farmed southwest of Woodbine. Floyd died on July 6, 1971. On January 9, 1977, Vivian married Bernard Montange. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Woodbine. Vivian liked to crochet, camp, spend time with her grandchildren, collecting Holstein cows and cooking. Preceding Vivian in death were her parents; first husband, Floyd; five brothers, Norman, Sam, Jerry, Fred and Dwayne; granddaughter, Gay Lynn Ellison and a stepson, Dennis Montange. Vivian is survived by her husband, Bernard Montange of Woodbine; four children, Gary Ellison and wife Frankie of Dunlap, Connie and husband Sol Mohn of Woodbine, Nancy Ellison and fiancee Bill Kruse of Council Bluffs and Tom Ellison and wife Charlene of Woodbine; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step children, Carol and husband Tom Nodean of Omaha, Neb., Kenny Montange and wife Barb of Manilla and Paul Montange and wife Judy of Beaver Lake, Neb.; nine step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal and husband Raymond Bramley of Soldier; three brothers, Max Malone and wife Clara Mae, Ivan and wife Edna and Benny and wife Jeanne all of Dow City and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Woodbine. Rev. John Eilers officiated. Musician was Mrs. Merrill McElwain and vocalist, Dencil Hammack, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Wind Beneath My Wings." Casket bearers were Scott Ellison, Martin Ellison, Jamie Ellison, Terry Mohn, Jeremy Ellison, Dereck Ellison, Bob Fouts. Burial was made in Woodbine Cemetery. Fouts Funeral Home of Woodbine/Dunlap was in charge of arrangements.
