Kenneth attended country school and graduated from Soldier High School in 1934. He worked in Minnesota harvesting fields. He then returned home to help his folks. On October 13, 1938, he married Lucille Knutson. The couple lived on a farm by Dow City for two years before moving to a farm west of Dunlap. Kenneth farmed his entire life. Kenneth was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church as he served as a council member and the treasurer. He was a country school director and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dunlap. Kenneth died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Immanuel Fontenelle Home in Omaha, Nebraska attaining the age of 87 years, three months, and 27 days. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Ralph and Russell Gorham. He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Omaha, Neb.; daughter, Janet and her husband Bill Oldham of Omaha, Neb.; son, Gary Gorham and his wife Audrey of Dunlap; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap on Monday, July 12, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Steve Hetzel and Lauri Boysen officiating. Musician was Lauri Boysen. Vocalist was Katie Schaben who sang "Amazing Grace." Interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. Pallbearers were Chad Gorham, Dan Gorham, Steve Carlisle, Kenneth Randall, Scott Quandt, Aaron Boysen and Adam Boysen. Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap was in charge of arrangements.
