Fr. Joseph A. Miksch officiated at the 10 a.m. service. Interment was made at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus, Neb. McKown Funeral Home of Columbus and Silver Creek, Neb., was in charge of arrangements. Sylvia was born March 6, 1911 in Denison to Henry and Linda (Hollander) Jahde. June 21, 1929 Sylvia married John P. Broderick at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap. They moved from Dunlap to Columbus in 1950. Sylvia was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Eagles Club, and Christian Mothers. She died Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at Columbus Com-munity Hospital in Columbus, Neb., at the age of 89. Preceding her in death were her husand, John P. Broderick; her parents, Henry and Linda Jahde; one brother, Clarence Jahde; two granddaughters, Rita Ann Broderick and Brittany Prosolow; a half-brother, Roy Lee Jahde. Survivors include two sons, John (Rachel) Broderick of San Diego, Calif., Phillip (Eleanor) Broderick of Omaha, Neb.; five daughters, Delores (Don) Noonan of Omaha, Neb., Joanne Scovel of Columbus, Neb., Judy (Loren) Stawniak of Ralston, Neb., Sheila (Dean) Williams of Omaha, Neb., and Gwen (Ray) Ferguson of Rancho Mirage, Calif; one sister, Hattie Asmus of Manilla; two half-sisters, Violet Boldebuck of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Rose Marie Peterson of Omaha, Neb.; and one half-brother, Henry Jahde of Cameron, Ill.
